Emma C. Smith
Cougar Education Fund
Emma C. Smith Elementary School Families,
The Smith Cougar Education Fund (the “Cougar Fund”) was created to fund Instructional Aides /Techs supporting specific educational programs which are unfortunately no longer funded by our school district or the state due to budget cuts. A community-funded program, the Cougar Fund supports resources that maximize the quality of education at Emma C. Smith Elementary School which are critical to our children's education and enable continued academic growth.
Why The Cougar Fund Is Needed
The Smith Elementary staff believe that all of our students deserve individualized instruction in computer technology, reading intervention, maintain current library hours, and study resources. The Cougar Fund will raise money to pay for the aides who support the listed programs.
Computer Lab (grades K - 5)
Smith School Library Hours (grades K - 5)
Intervention Academy (grades K - 5)
These are essential programs for the academic growth and success of our students.
The Cougar Fund Aids YOUR Child and Our Teachers
Each and every child benefits from the Cougar Fund, regardless of academic standing. Our teachers and classes at Smith Elementary rely heavily on these aides and their enriched programs.

Our goal is to raise $60,000 to retain these programs. To achieve this goal, we are seeking 100% participation from Smith families through a tax deductible donation of $150 per family for the 2013/2014 school year. No donation is too small and every gift is appreciated. Please give what you can. Please check with your employer for matching fund programs.
